Things That Are Keeping Me, Sane, This Summer

Whew! Summer is here, and that means vacations. The summer weather can be overwhelming at times but maintaining a routine will help you keep on track. But, to support all of that relaxation, I need to set up summer routines to keep things moving smoothly so that we don’t come home from the pool without food, or our house is a mess that isn’t enjoyable to spend time in. Summer is a time of year when you can take a break from the hustle and bustle of life and just relax. However, this doesn’t mean that you should stop working out, eating healthy, and staying active!

Let’s talk about the things or routines that we follow in summer but before that just sum up the points that keep your sanity remain in this summer.

1. Taking vitamins (and drinking lots of water)
2. Wearing sunscreen every day (even if it’s cloudy out)
3. Using cooling sprays when I’m at work or doing errands during the day
4. Getting up early so, can take a walk before the sun gets too high in the sky
5. Eating lots of fruits and vegetables to stay hydrated and healthy all summer long

The summer is ending, and I’m trying to squeeze every drop of fun out of it. So, here are six things that are keeping me sane this summer.

Let’s start the first day of week that is Monday!

As Monday is the first day of week and on this day, there is lot of work to do for the whole week, so this summer organize the things and routine that turns out too good for years, I struggled to establish a successful grocery shopping routine, but in the last few years, I’ve finally discovered one that works for me. I compose the weekly meal (I use this menu planning service) and grocery list as part of my Sunday night preparation for the week, and then place a grocery order for delivery first thing Monday morning. Then I’ve got meals planned for the remainder of the week, as well as snacks for outings. This has lifted a huge burden off my shoulders and ensures that I have food to eat every night.

Pizza and Movie Nights

Summer is the season for outdoor movies and picnics, but those are not my thing. Instead of going outside and sitting on the grass, I prefer to stay inside where it’s cool. And while I’m at it, why not grab some pizza and watch a movie? It’s a simple evening activity that everyone can enjoy. If you’re anything like me, summertime means lots of work and lots of stress. So I’m always looking for ways to relax and de-stress during the long days and nights. There’s nothing like curling up on the couch in front of your favorite flick with a big slice of pizza.

A day at the beach or pool

There’s nothing like getting outside in the warm sunshine to brighten up your day! This is especially important if you live where summers are scorching hot! I love hitting up my local pool on hot days — it’s such a great way to cool off and escape from the heat!

Read a Book

I’ve been reading more recently than ever before because it helps me relax after a long day at work or school. Reading also gives you something to look forward to so you don’t have time to stress out about things like bills or relationships or whatever else might be stressing you out in life right now. Plus, reading is good for your brain! So if you haven’t read anything lately, go buy yourself a book (or download one) and start reading! You won’t regret it

Laundry Day.

Do you know what’s better than being done with laundry? Not doing any at all! But if you can’t afford to go that route yet, it’s still a good time to get the washing machine going. It’s hot out there, so turn on the AC and get some nice clean laundry ready for the next week of hot weather. It will feel so good when you put on your favorite shirt that smells like Febreeze instead of wet dog or spilled milk.

A cold glass of water with ice in it

When I’m feeling warm and thirsty, nothing hits the spot like an ice-cold glass of water with ice cubes in it. I like to let my drink sit out for a few minutes before I drink it so that some of the ice melts and adds more flavor without watering down my drink too much (and so I don’t burn my tongue). Plus, if you want to start a conversation with someone at work or school but aren’t sure how to start talking about something interesting, just ask them what their favorite kind of ice is! It’s always fun talking about something this simple.

Conclusion

This summer, I’ve really been enjoying having some time off to relax. It’s nice to take a break from work and have a chance to do some activities that keep us fresh in this summer without feeling pressured. I feel like it has helped me reconnect with what I like about design overall, and it’s also given me a chance to experiment with new styles and techniques. So, these all are the routine that I followed during this summer and feel relaxed.
